An affordable lightweight (starting at 2.78 lbs) 10.1-inch Mini 1103 netbook for professionals was announced by HP today, and is planned to hit stores in December. The netbook features your choice of an Intel Atom N455 or N475 processor, both designed to keep the system cooler and to maximize the 3-cell battery life or the more powerful 6-cell (optional) lithium-ion battery life.
Memory is configurable at 1GB or 2GB DDR3 SDRAM at 667MHz. Choose from 160, 250, or 320GB of hard drive space at 7200rpm and an optional removable 2.0 USB CD/DVD R/RW drive.
The Mini 1103 comes installed with QuickSync software, which can synchronize files from the Mini to another computer or other storage device; and QuickWeb, software designed to connect to the Internet quickly even if the Mini is loading the operating system.
The netbook has a 93% full keyboard (no number pad), features a black design, and comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Starter edition, SUSE Linux Enterprise 11, and FreeDOS.
