I know lots of you were interested in Dell’s upcoming XPS products that we unveiled a few weeks ago at IFA in Berlin. Today we shared some details on two new Latitude mobile products—the new Latitude 6430u Ultrabook and the Latitude 10 tablet. We also unveiled on an upcoming touch-enabled version of our OptiPlex 9010 All-in-One desktop.
With these new offerings, we aimed to design innovative products that inject consumer appeal to systems for business users. All these products are rooted in things that matter to companies: security, manageability and durability. That means businesses can deploy them with confidence.
All three of these products will be available for order when Windows 8 launches. Lionel and team will blog more about these products when we get closer to availability here on Direct2Dell.
For now, here are some details on each of these new products:
Dell Latitude 10 Tablet
The 10-inch Latitude 10 tablet will be based on an upcoming Atom processor design from Intel. It will run Windows 8 Pro and also features two user-replaceable battery options. It’s built to withstand the rigors of work with a magnesium alloy frame and Corning Gorilla Glass. The optional docking station enables in-office, desktop-like productivity. Beyond the swappable battery, it also offers a full-size USB port for simple plug-and-play with external storage, printers and other peripherals, as well as an industry standard micro-USB charging port for easy on-the-go charging. Mobile users can connect and collaborate with co-workers via mobile broadband, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi options, front and rear webcams, and an integrated microphone.
Dell Latitude 10 Windows 8 Pro tablet
The Latitude 10 is designed to integrate into any business
environment. IT pros can manage it the same way as other traditional PCs
in the environment using existing management solutions, such as Dell KACE
appliances or SCCM. Because it runs Windows 8 Pro, it supports both
the Windows 8 touch and app experience along with legacy Windows
applications that you’re used to running on a Windows PC. Beyond that,
it supports solid security features like TPM management, an optional smartcard and fingerprint reader as well as Dell Data Protection | Encryption options.
Dell Latitude 6430u Ultrabook
The Latitude 6430u is built with large and mid-size organizations in mind and strikes the balance between appeal and corporate needs with the combination of security, manageability and durability with a thin, highly-mobile form factor and striking design aesthetic. The new laptop is highly secure with Dell Data Protection | Encryption, TPM, optional smartcard and fingerprint reader and offers the industry’s best manageability with Intel vPro technology and Dell unique extensions, as well as a full suite of business-class services including Dell Configuration Services, Dell ProSupport, Dell Deployment and Dell ImageDirect.
The 14-inch Latitude 6430u is built for durability—it’s the only
Ultrabook currently designed to meet rigorous United States Military MIL-STD-810G testing
standards. The new design boasts a magnesium alloy chassis wrapped with
soft touch paint, worry-free spill-resistant keyboard and protective
LCD seal and a fast solid state drive. This business laptop is designed
for Windows 8 is powered by 3rd generation Intel Core i3, i5 & i7 processors all in a design is just 0.82” thick and 3.7 pounds.
The new Latitude 6430u offers all kinds of connectivity features including wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.0 and mobile broadband options. Other useful business features include a back-lit keyboard, VGA and HDMI ports and integrated microphone and HD Webcam for video conferencing and Intel Smart and Rapid Start technologies for fast access to data and to stay on top while on the road. The Latitude 6430u is the first Ultrabook in the Latitude line.

The sleek OptiPlex 9010 All-in-One was designed to enable productivity while preserving desk space—with an integrated power supply, VESA mounting, and optional wireless mouse and keyboard.
To optimize business users’ Windows 8 experience, the 23-inch
OptiPlex 9010 features an optional multipoint touchscreen, a fixed or
rotating camera, and an articulating stand for additional flexibility.
It is powered by Intel 2nd or 3rd generation Core
VPro processors. Beyond that, the OptiPlex 9010 offers easy access USB
3.0 ports for fast data transfer and native external digital monitor
support with HDMI and VGA ports.
